The one stop H!P broadcast central

A few words of praise

Posted 2009-12-12.

So I must admit my web-presence has been going rather downhill lately. Guess I should be considered a retiree in the web-sphere by now, but shit happens. Life changes, priorities changes, but enough about that. This post, while it may initially not seem like it, is not about me.

I'm posting this right now, because the last few days someone has seriously been working overtime, and it's not me. This person really deserves some credit.

Even though my web-presence is low, I usually try to pop in and fix things if people call me out explicitly. Otherwise this site is just like a machine that just keeps on running. And while kinda sad, that is mostly the state of things. I had no ambitions of creating a dedicated community here. There were enough sites and places for that already.

So if I ever hear anything from any of you, it's because something doesn't work or something is wrong. But I'm honestly not complaining. I've spent lots of time getting this site up and running like it does, and if it needs some fixes here and there to keep at it, I'd consider it a shame not to put in that minor effort.

But... Even if I am away, even if I am somewhere completely different, without internet access, lost in a jungle fighting Bengali tigers or maybe just sleeping off a hangover, there is one guy who keeps coming back: Usagi no Kami.

Every single week he keeps on posting summaries, track lists, guests, you name it for a shitload of different shows. While he is modest enough to credit Ampedechoz from the Jpopmusic forums for actually making them, it still takes a solid effort to watch over the forums, pick out the posts, and just actually bother to post them here.

I really appreciate it. Really. Smile

This site might not be the centre of the H!P universe, but I still feel that it does have its place. I hope it does add some value, some sense of order, and if it does, much of that I think is thanks to Usagi no Kami for supplementing various radioshows with actual descriptions, so that is more than just a download site, a regular FTP server or a mere file-listing. It's an living, growing index of all that is H!P radio.

So Usagi no Kami (and obviously Ampedechoz too): Thanks for your ever continuing contributions. Thanks for keeping up. Thanks for the summaries. Thanks for helping making the site what it is. Usagi, if you should ever want editor rights to help keep the news tidy and up to date, do let me know Smile

Aww, shucks.. you're making me blush! Blush

A big thanks goes out to you for creating the site with soo many radioshows that many, including myself, would have no way of listening to without your help.
And also many thanks to the summarizers/translators out there who know soo much more Japanese than I do:
OnDiet, Ampedechoz, Turbos86, Christie and others!

Keep up the good work everyone!!

Hear, hear. Everyone's efforts are very much appreciated, from the automation to the translations to the playlists. You all certainly have no true obligation to do what you do or even to fulfill any requests, so we're just thankful that you volunteer your time to do them. Honestly, if I ever cease to be an H!P fan, I think I'll still listen to some of the radio shows on this site. So, as always, thank you.

Well thanks all of you for all your work, I have never had any problem with the site, I don't visit it too much because I follow shows via your RSS system, but even there I don't remember to have a problem ever.
I always read these news in RSS too, now that I think of it I almost never visit pages anymore.
Keep up the good work and thanks for everything.
